2011 Bowl Projections: Penn State And Temple On Pace For Late Bowl Games

The Penn State Nittany Lions have had a good season so far while Temple should be eligible, too. Where could they end up when the Bowl season rolls around?

Penn State is having an excellent season so far and should end up with a nice bowl game to end the season. The Nittany Lions boast one of the nations top-ranked defenses and have not lost since dropping a Week 2 contest Alabama, an undefeated BCS Championship contender.

Temple is 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the MAC conference. The Owls also boast a top defensive unit, allowing just 10 points a game (good for second best in the country).

SB Nation has compiled a list of 2011 NCAA Bowl Projections so you can keep an eye on who the experts think will be playing in which games. Penn State could be playing in the Outback Bowl (vs. South Carolina), Gator Bowl (vs. Florida), Texas Bowl (vs. Missouri) or Insight Bowl (vs. Texas), according to these projections. Despite the Nittany Lions' undefeated conference record, no expert has Penn State claiming the Big Ten's BCS bid. Penn State still has to pay Wisconson and Nebraska.

Temple appears bowl-bound as well. The Owls could be in the GoDaddy Bowl against either FIU or UL-Lafayette. Other options include the Little Ceasars bowl against Iowa or the Idaho Potato Bowl against Louisiana Tech.
