Penn State Scandal: Joe Paterno To Speak With Media Tuesday

Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno will speak speak during his regularly scheduled press conference Tuesday at 12:20 p.m., according to a report from the New York Times' Pete Thamel.

It was previously unknown whether Paterno would face the media, just days after news broke that his former defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky was being charged with 40 counts of sexual assault of eight boys over a 15-year span. Since then, many in the national media have been questioning Paterno's role in the scandal (see here and here). Though the longtime head coach has not been implicated from a legal stanpoint, there remains doubt over whether he did enough by merely telling his superiors in 2002 that a graduate assistant had told him he had seen Sandusky sexually abusing a young boy in the showers of one of the football program's buildings. Earlier today, it was discovered that Sandusky had been on the premises as recently as this last week.
