Penn State Scandal: Jerry Sandusky's Hearing Moved To Dec. 7

Disgraced former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky's hearing on child sex charges has been delayed until Dec. 7, according to a report Tuesday from the Harrisburg Patriot-News.The hearing had originally been scheduled for Wednesday.

Sandusky was arraigned Saturday on 40 counts of of sex crimes against young boys and was released on $100,000 unsecured bail and ordered not to have any contact with children. The charges against Sandusky stem from allegations from eight different boys over a 10-year period. Sandusky came into contact with many of the boys through his Second Mile foundation, which was created to help disadvantaged children.

The scandal has sent shockwaves through the Penn State community, as alums and students try to come to grips against the severe allegations against what had previously been a clean program. Already, athletic director Tim Curley has taken administrative leave and senior vice president Gary Schultz has stepped down amidst charges of perjury for covering up Sandusky's alleged misdeeds.
