Penn State Vs. Houston, 2012 Ticket City Bowl Halftime Score: Nittany Lions Trail 24-7

The Penn State Nittany Lions trail the Houston Cougars 24-7 at halftime in the Ticket City Bowl at The Cotton Bowl in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas.

The Nittany Lions' defense bucked up in the second quarter after being scorched through the air in the first quarter for 200+ yards. That is until, late in the quarter. Case Keenum stepped up in the pocket and launched a pass that eventually went 75 yards for the score. Houston missed a field goal attempt in the quarter when the kick hit the top of the right upright. Another long field goal attempt was no good just before the half.

The Penn State offense still lacked firepower in the second quarter. Penn State has punted seven times through two quarters of play.

Penn State thought they had a touchdown on a huge punt return from Justin Brown but he had stepped out of bounds while breaking a tackle. The Nittany Lions had their only sustained drive of 67 yards to get their only score of the game so far on a Stephfon Green 6-yard touchdown run.

Case Keenum has 380 passing yards and 3 touchdowns at halftime for Houston. Penn State has 115 yards of total offense.
