Penn State Vs. Houston, 2012 Ticket City Bowl Third Quarter Score: Nittany Lions Trail 27-14

The Penn State Nittany Lions trail the Houston Cougars 27-14 after the third quarter of play in the Ticket City Bowl at The Cotton Bowl in Fair Park, Dallas, Texas.

After the first quarter of what looked like a game that was going to get out of hand, Penn State's defense played better. The Cougars' offense was slowed save for one long touchdown play in the second quarter. The Nittany Lions also got their only points in the second quarter.

The third quarter was sleepy scoring wise until the end of the quarter. Houston finally made another field goal attempt on their fourth try with 4:21 to play. Before the field goal, the drives looked like this: Penn State interception, Houston punt and Penn State punt.

Penn State responded to the field goal with a touchdown drive. After Penn State nearly turned the ball over on a fumble, Justin Brown got the touchdown on a 69-yard pass reception that he didn't get on a punt return earlier in the game. Case Keenum has thrown for 490 yards and three touchdowns for Houston through three quarters.
