Penn State Coaching Search: Greg Roman Reportedly A Finalist, Decision Expected Within A Week

The Penn State head coaching search which has been going on since November may be over within a week. The school previously stated their intention to have a coach in place before National Signing Day on Feb. 1.

According to a report, San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who has interview for the job a month ago, is a finalist (via Eric Branch's Twitter). Roman turned down the Tulane head coaching job when it was offered to him (via Eric Branch's twitter).

Earlier today, a report stated that Roman had interviewed with Penn State. The same report also stated that Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien was not going to take the job and that the school intended to take another shot at Boise State head coach Chris Petersen. Petersen previously rebuffed the offer of Penn State to replace Joe Paterno.
