The Penn St. Nittany Lions landed a quarterback recruit earlier today when Cairo High School (GA) prospect Steven Bench flipped his commitment from Rice to Penn State (via Atlanta Journal-Constitution).
Bench (6-2, 200) is a three-star or 2-star quarterback, depending on the recruiting service. Bench said about his decision to change his commitment
"It was a really tough decision, but I felt like Penn State was the right choice for me," Bench said. "The school was amazing, the facilities were amazing, and the thing that really stood out there during my visit was the school pride. Everybody loves it there. It's hard to find a place where 44,000 people like the school they go to."
Bench seems firm in his commitment. Mississippi State called him this morning but he told them that his recruitment is finished.
