The Penn State Nittany Lions picked up their 19th commitment when Central Dauphin defensive end Evan Schawn gave his verbal commitment after visiting the school this weekend (via Penn Live.com).
Schwan (6-6, 235), a two or three-star defensive end depending on the recruiting service, chose Penn State over other offers from Connecticut, Iowa, Kent State, Rutgers and Temple. All those schools listed except Kent State offered Schwan a scholarship just before he made his visit to Penn State.
During his senior season, Schwan made 78 tackles and 17 sacks for the PIAA Class AAAA champion Rams. Schwan was a pass rush specialist for Central Dauphin. He bounced back from his junior season that ended after two quarters with an injury.
