Penn State vs. Purdue score: Nittany Lions cruise to 34-3 lead in third quarter

After an impressive showing in the first half gave the Penn St. Nittany Lions a 20-3 lead at half, two more touchdowns have all-but-ended their Big 10 matchup with the Purdue Boilermakers. Midway through the third quarter, PSU holds a 34-3 lead and is threatening to score yet again.

Matthew McGloin hit Jesse James for a 12-yard touchdown score on the team's first drive of the second half. McGloin has played very well all game, throwing for 271 yards and two touchdowns. He's completed 18 of his 30 pass attempts. McGloin then connected with Brandon Moseby-Felder for a 41-yard touchdown that gave Penn State their 34-3 lead.

Assuming the Nittany Lions can hold on this afternoon, they'll improve their record to 6-3 this season with a mark of 4-1 in conference play. That's not too bad considering everything that has happened in the last year. As for Purdue, the Boilermakers will drop to 0-4 against Big 10 foes and are all-but-eliminated from bowl game consideration.
