Despite finishing just 8-5, the Wisconsin Badgers are headed to the Rose Bowl after thrashing the Nebraska Cornhuskers 70-31 in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday night. The Badgers racked up 539 yards on the ground in the blowout victory, and will face the Stanford Cardinal in the Rose Bowl.
The only reason Wisconsin was in position to play for the right to go to Pasadena was because of sanctions to Ohio State and Penn State. Both the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions finished with a better record than the Badgers in the Big Ten's Leaders Division, but the sanctions made those two teams ineligible for postseason play.
Nebraska got to the Big Ten Championship Game by winning the Legends Division. The Cornhuskers went 7-1 in conference play and were favored in the title game before getting embarrassed. Nebraska will be headed to the Capital One Bowl to take on the Georgia Bulldogs.
