Penn State Vs. Northwestern Preview

The Penn State Nittany Lions will look to avenge their loss to the Northwestern Wildcats earlier this season.

The 12-16 Penn State Nittany Lions basketball team will host the 16-11 Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday night in their second-to-last home game of the regular season. With only four wins and 11 losses in conference play the Nittany Lions are the worst team in the Big Ten. At 6-9, Northwestern isn't much better.

These two teams last met on New Year's Day, when Northwestern won the game by a final of 68-56. Penn State led by three points at halftime, but a 45-point Northwestern explosion in the second half led to an easy Wildcat victory. Guards, Drew Crawford and Dave Sobolewski, led the game in scoring with a combined 41 points on only 20 shots. While Penn State was able to dominate Northwestern on the glass, the Wildcats held the advantage in all other areas.

Tip is scheduled for 9:00 EST.
