Penn State Vs Purdue: Big Second Half Powers Boilermakers To 80-56 Win

Penn State handled Purdue in their first meeting of the season on Jan. 5. They could not repeat on the road Wednesday night, falling to the Boilermakers by a final score of 80-56.

Penn State handled Purdue in their first meeting of the season on Jan. 5. They could not repeat on the road Wednesday night, falling to the Boilermakers by a final score of 80-56.

Junior guard Tim Frazier gave Penn State their lone high note. Their leading scorer all season, Frazier led the Nittany Lions with 24 points, five rebounds and six assists. He shot almost 63 percent from the field. Unfortunately for Penn State, Frazier had little in the way of help. Jermaine Marshall scored 10 points, the only other player in double figures for Penn State.

Penn State had no answer for Purdue's Robbie Hummel. In his last home game for the Boilermakers, he sent fans away with a memorable 26-point performance. He also led the team with eight rebounds and six assists.

Penn State wraps up the regular season on Sunday, March 4, at home against 16th ranked Michigan.

Sitting in last place in the Big Ten, they open the conference tournament on Thursday, March 8.
