In an usual score, the Penn State defense defeated the Penn State offense 77-65 in the Nittany Lions annual Spring Football Game. The reason the score appears to bizarre, is because new head coach, Bill O'Brien, revamped the scoring system. For a detailed look at the changes, click here.
Running back Bill Benton had a nice game rushing for 50 yards on seven carries, including a touchdown. Receivers Allen Robinson and Shawney Kersey each had a pair of 40+ yard receptions.
The quarterback competition between Rob Bolden, Paul Jones and Matt McGloin was a bit underwhelming on this day. Bolden was 7-14 with three interceptions, Jones was 6-15 with one interception, and McGloin was 6-13 and an interception. Jones had the most yards with 113, but hardly an impressive outing.
