Jerry Sandusky Trial: Sandusky Found Guilty On 45 Of 48 Counts

The jury has reached a verdict in the trial of former Penn State Assistant Football Coach Jerry Sandusky. As reported by the New York Times, the 68 year old Sandusky was found guilty on 45 of 48 counts of child sexual abuse. It was the second day of deliberations, and the jury announced that they had reached a verdict late Friday night. According to reports from the courtroom, Sandusky gave little reaction as the verdict was read.

The defense rested in the case on Wednesday without calling Sandusky as a witness, though his wife and psychologist were called. Information on their testimony can be found here. The jury members were sequestered from the beginning of deliberations. A guilty verdict of some kind was widely expected, with the only uncertainty in the case surrounding what sentencing will be handed out. The sentencing will be determined later on.
