Penn State DT Jordan Hill, LB Gerald Hodges Make Preseason Watch Lists

The Penn State Nittany Lions had two players make college football preseason watch lists on Thursday. Defensive tackle Jordan Hill was named to the Outland Trophy watch list while linebacker Gerald Hodges made the Bronko Nagurski watch list. Hodges also made the 2012 watch list for the Maxwell Award earlier in the week.

The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the best interior lineman in college football by the Football Writers Association of America. Penn State had a previous winner when defensive tackle Mike Reid won the Outland Trophy in 1969. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is awarded annually to the best defensive player in the country by the Football Writers Association of America and Charlotte Touchdown Club. Penn State has no former Nagurski winners.
