The Penn State Nittany Lions football program took another hit on Saturday, losing their first recruit since the Freeh Report surfaced last week.
Defensive lineman Greg Webb de-committed from Penn State and took his talents to the University of North Carolina instead, according to Philly.com. Webb is considered one of the very best in the country at his position, making this a tough pill to swallow for Bill O'Brien and his coaching staff.
It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks how many other players decide to attend school elsewhere considering all of the tragedy and upheaval happening in Happy Valley. With so much uncertainty surrounding everything with the Nittany Lions these days, it's hard to really blame a kid for wanting to avoid all of it.
Webb might turn out to be just a single case of a young man seeking another path, or the first of many looking to move onto somewhere else.
