The Heat looked far from the team they were claiming to be before the season, but that didn’t matter much against a bad Sixers team. The biggest bright spot came from Jodie Meeks, who scored 18 points in the second quarter, shooting 8-13 from the field and 5-8 from three for the game. He should be in line for more minutes as the season goes on, being the catch-and-shoot player Doug Collins is looking for.
Andre Iguodala filled the stat sheet once again, scoring 20 points on 12 shots and adding 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Since returning from his injury, he’s been performing well. Thaddeus Young added 11 and Elton Brand put in 12. The Sixers continued to be undone by a failure to rebound and defend on the interior, even though Spencer Hawes had 8 rebounds, a season high.
The Sixers fall to 3-13 while the Heat stand at 9-7.
