ESPN's Chad Ford noted in a recent column that the 76ers and Knicks seem to be interested USC PF/C Nikola Vucevic. The 20 year old from Montenegro measured out as the tallest player at the NBA combine, just a shade under seven feet without shoes. He also had a huge 7-5 wingspan and a 9-5 standing reach, which is better than Greg Oden measured out at.
The reach is extra important for Vucevic because he's not seen as a particularly athletic player. He's not really fast and doesn't really play "above the rim" but he is a good shooter with a well developed mid range game already. He has an NBA center body and is stout at 260 pounds, but certainly could stand to get stronger and more physical.
Ford says that he may be "the only true NBA center in the draft," however it should be noted that he didn't always play in the middle at USC. Given his size and athleticism however, teams at the next level will likely want him at the five.
