2011 NBA Draft: 76ers Zeroing In On Jordan Hamilton?

CBS Sports' Ken Berger is reporting that Texas forward Jordan Hamilton "appears headed to Philly at #16." We've seen Hamilton as a Sixers pick in a few mock drafts in the past few months and he does pass that "you must be 6-8" test.

Hamilton is one of the best scorers in college basketball, which certainly would fill a need on the team right now. Here's a scouting report for the 6-9 small forward.

NBA scouts have always loved his talent. They believe he's one of the few guys in this draft who could average 20 ppg in the NBA. He measured well for a small forward (6-8 with an 8-8 standing reach) and I'm told he was very good in interviews. If teams feel confident that he'll mature and quit taking crazy shots, he's a very interesting prospect who could go as high as the Kings at No. 7. The Bobcats, Warriors, Suns and Rockets also have major interest.

Chad Ford had the Sixers taking Hamilton in his fourth mock of the season.

The Sixers have been looking for a big man in the draft but the team could go in a different direction now that it appears Andre Iguodala is back on the block. The Sixers have also been hungry for shooters, and Hamilton is one of the most lethal scorers in the draft. Markieff Morris, Nikola Vucevic and Kenneth Faried are also possibilities here.
