76ers Vs. Pistons: Sixers Home Opener

After starting the season 3-2 the Sixers play their first home game of the season tonight against the Detroit Pistons.

The 3-2 Sixers are the only team in the NBA who have yet to play a home game, until tonight when they host the Detroit Pistons. They opened the season with five consecutive road games, including four on the west coast. Now they return home, where 18 of their next 22 games will be played.

The Pistons are 2-4 on the season and 0-2 on the road. The Sixers should have a fairly easy time with Detroit, who rank near the bottom of statistical category, including offensive and defensive efficiency. Look for the Sixers to capitalize on the Pistons' turnovers by getting out in transition, utilizing their team athleticism.

The player to watch in tonight's game is Pistons big man Greg Monroe; the second year center has been the Pistons best player this season. He's averaging 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists on 58 percent shooting. The Sixers lack strong interior defense, so skilled big man always pose a problem.
