The 2012-13 NBA season officially tips off on Tuesday, with the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers kicking things off at 7:00 p.m. ET before the marquee matchup between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The Philadelphia 76ers open their season a day later on Halloween, as they host former Sixer Andre Iguodala and the Denver Nuggets. The Sixers traded Iguodala this offseason as part of a three-way deal that brought Andrew Bynum to Philadelphia.

Unfortunately, Bynum is going to miss the season opener with a knee injury. The big man has had a litany of knee issues in the past, and Philadelphia is playing it ultra cautious with their prized offseason acquisition. Lavoy Allen will likely get the start at center.

Another big matchup this week in Philadelphia's division is on Thursday, when the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets christen the new Barclay's Center.

Here's the full schedule for the week from Sports Illustrated.
