NBA scores: Sixers hold off Celtics, 106-100

With their win on Friday, the 76ers moved to 3-2 on the year.

Evan Turner and Jrue Holiday led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-100 victory over the Boston Celtics on Friday night. The Sixers were ahead for the entire second half, as they managed to hold off several comeback attempts by the Celtics.

Turner scored 25 points and added 11 rebounds. Holiday - who leads the team in scoring - dropped in 21 points and tallied 14 assists. The 76ers have now won two games in a row after starting their season at 1-2.

For the Celtics, this was their second straight loss. Rajon Rondo played well, racking up 14 points and 20 assists. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett scored 24 and 19 points. Still, Boston struggled on defense, especially in transition.

Around the division, the New York Knicks remained undefeated with a 104-94 win over the Dallas Mavericks. The Brooklyn Nets cruised to a big victory over the Orlando Magic, 107-68. The Toronto Raptors were off on Friday night.
