NBA scores: Philadelphia 76ers defeat the New Orleans Hornets on the road

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday evening, 77-62. What were some of the other scores from Wednesday?

The Philadelphia 76ers won their second game of the season on Wednesday when they visited the New Orleans Hornets, 77-62. The Hornets were without the services of forward Anthony Davis and only one player on the Hornets, forward Al-Farouq Aminu with 10 points, scored in double figures.

As for the 76ers, guard Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner both scored 14 points. Thaddeus Young and Lavoy Allen both scored 12 points and center Spencer Hawes scored 11 points off of the bench. The 76ers finished with a total shooting percentage of 41.7 percent compared to 33.3 percent by the Hornets.

In other NBA action on Wednesday night, the Miami Heat defeated the Brooklyn Nets 103-73, where Dwyane Wade led scoring for the Heat with 22 points. The Boston Celtics, who the Philadelphia 76ers play on Friday night, defeated the Washington Wizards in overtime, 100-94. Kevin Garnett led the scoring for the Celtics with 20 points.

The 76ers now look forward to Friday's game against the Celtics. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the TD Garden in Boston.
