NBA standings 2012: 76ers drop to fourth in the Atlantic

If the season ended today, the 76ers would finish in ninth place in the Eastern Conference and just shy of a playoff spot.

The Philadelphia 76ers' recent struggles have dropped them down to fourth place in the Atlantic division. Philadelphia (12-11) has lost five of its last seven contests, and now trails the Boston Celtics (12-10) by half a game. Both teams are looking up at the Brooklyn Nets (13-9) and the New York Knicks (17-5).

Around the East, the Milwaukee Bucks have grabbed a piece of the lead in the Central division. Milwaukee and the Chicago Bulls are even at 12-9. In the Southeast, the Miami Heat's recent struggles have landed them in a tie for first place with the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat have lost three of their last five, while Atlanta has won five of its last six games.

In the West, the San Antonio Spurs (18-4) and Oklahoma City Thunder (19-4) have comfortable leads atop their respective divisions. In the Pacific division the Los Angeles Clippers (16-6) lead the Golden State Warriors (15-8) by 1.5 games.
