The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Memphis Grizzles on Wednesday night by a final score of 99-89.
With Wednesday night's game marking the first of a seven-game road trip, Philadelphia opened in ideal fashion. Currently sitting in fourth place in the Atlantic Division, the team trails the New York Knicks for first place by seven games and will look to gain ground in the standings with a strong showing on the trip.
The Knicks were also in action on Wednesday night as they defeated the Phoenix Suns by a final score of 99-97. New York will wrap-up a three-game Western road trip of their own on Friday night when the team challenges the Sacramento Kings. The first game of the trip came against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas day, which the Knicks lost by a final score 100-94.
The Boston Celtics registered a dominating win over the Brooklyn Nets on Christmas day, winning by a final score of 93-76. Brooklyn followed up the effort with another blowout loss on Wednesday night to the Milwaukee Bucks (108-93).
Boston will return to action on Thursday night when they travel to Los Angeles to play the Clippers.
The Toronto Raptors fell to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night by a final score of 100-80.
