It hardly comes with the excitement of the NBA Draft, but Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard Evan Turner learns Thursday night which team he will play for in the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge on Feb. 24.
Formerly known as the Rookie Challenge, the game features 18 of the top first- and second-year players. Rather than have the rookies face off against the sophomores like they have every other season, the league decided to mix the rosters, with Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley choosing teams from the available player pool on Thursday night at 7 p.m. on NBA TV.
A list of the players selected to participate in the game follows:
Blake Griffin, Kyrie Irving, Ricky Rubio, John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Greg Monroe, Derrick Williams, Tristan Thompson, Brandon Knight,Kemba Walker, Markieff Morris, MarShon Brooks, Kawhi Leonard, Evan Turner, Gordon Hayward, Paul George, Landry Fields, Tiago Splitter
