In the latest NBA MVP Power Rankings put out by SB Nation.com's Tom Ziller, Philadelphia 76ers forward Andre Iguodala has climbed from the masses of the unranked up to 8th.
Ziller points out that Iguodala is worthy of a top ten spot despite not scoring in bunches because of his defense. Here's what he said about Igoudala this week:
Iguodala is the best wing defender in the NBA right now, edging LeBron, Luol Deng and, in my opinion, Tony Allen. Philadelphia has the league's top defense largely because 'Dala allows almost no breathing room for his cover on an almost nightly basis. That's valuable.
While playing lockdown defense for the Sixers, Iguodala also scores 12.8 points per game, pulls down 6.6 rebounds per game and dishes out 5.2 assists per game. Iguodala and the rest of the Sixers will be in action tonight against the Spurs at the Wells Fargo Center at 7 p.m.
