Philadelphia 76ers Waive Andres Nocioni

The Sixers waived Andres Nocioni on Tuesday.

The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Tuesday that they have waived seldom used forward Andres Nocioni (via Sixers).

Nocioni had not played since a March 7 game against the Boston Celtics. Nocioni had one point in that game in four minutes. For the season, Nocioni had only made 11 appearances (1 start) and averaged 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game.

Sixers president Rod Thorn said

"We want to sincerely thank Andres for his contributions to our team and maintaining a true level of professionalism throughout his time here," Sixers President of Basketball Operations Rod Thorn said. "We wish him the best of luck as he pursues future opportunities."

Nocioni was acquired in 2010 as part of the deal that brought Spencer Hawes to Philadelphia in exchange for Samuel Dalembert.

With the release of Nocioni, the Sixers have 13 players on the roster.
