NBA Standings 2012: Philadelphia 76ers Trying To Hold Off New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks

With a victory against the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia 76ers moved one game ahead of the New York Knicks for the Eastern Conference's seventh playoff spot.

Philadelphia now enters the season's stretch run (the Sixers have nine games left) with a two-game cushion against the Milwaukee Bucks, who are currently in ninth place in the conference.

The Sixers remain three games behind the Boston Celtics, who continue to surge in the final month, in the Atlantic Division standings. Philadelphia owns the tie-breaker with Boston if the two teams finish the regular season with identical records.
