2012 NBA Playoffs, Sixers Vs. Celtics: Elton Brand, Thaddeus Young Injury Updates

At least two Philadelphia 76ers, Elton Brand and Thaddeus Young, will be banged up when the team looks to even its second-round series against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden Monday night.

Elton Brand has nursed a strained neck for the past week and still did not feel entirely right at the team's shootaround on Monday. He said he feels the pain in the left side of his body, and it especially hurts when he reaches for rebounds.

Still, he doesn't expect to miss any time.

"Just treat it. Like I said, everybody's dealing with ailments, everybody has something going on with them. Just work through it, and I'm excited to play tonight," he told reporters, as seen in Comcast Philly's video injury report.

Added coach Doug Collins, "EB's not one to say much. He just goes about his business. But I've been noticing the last series, when we would take him out of the game he would put the heat on his shoulder. I don't know whether he has a cervical strain or a muscle, but I think he's a little sore."

Young rolled his ankle during the second quarter of Game 1 and departed for the locker room. He did not return until the fourth quarter, and was ineffective in the fourth while operating as a power forward against Boston's small lineup.

"Thad said he was feeling better today," coach Doug Collins said.
