Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Search: Top Candidate Danny Ferry Reportedly Offered Hawks GM Job

Could it be time to return to the drawing board for the Philadelphia 76ers in their general manager search? The top candidate to take over for Rod Thorn in Philadelphia, Danny Ferry, has reportedly been offered the general manager job of the Atlanta Hawks (via Yahoo! Sports). No deal has been completed with the Hawks, but talks are reportedly serious between Ferry and the organization.

Ferry met with the Sixers a couple of weeks ago and did not break off talks after the meeting. Ferry is currently with the San Antonio Spurs as a front office executive for the second time in his career. Ferry was a general manager with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005-2010. If Ferry takes the Atlanta job, he would replace Hawks general manager Rick Sund.
