In his latest 2012 NBA Mock Draft at Draft Express, Jonathan Givony projects the Philadelphia 76ers to select Perry Jones III of Baylor with the 15th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Jones, a 6-foot-11, 235-pound forward, averaged 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds during his sophomore season at Baylor. NBA scouts are intrigued by his potential, as he has guard skills and the length of a center. But the 20-year old failed to dominate during his two seasons at Baylor, and there are questions as to whether he will ever reach his impressive potential.
Interestingly, a trainer who has been working out Jones recently, Dr. Marcus Elliott, said the way Jones moved might have been partially to blame for the notion that he didn't play his hardest at Baylor. After teaching Jones how to generate force from his hips rather than his knees, Elliott believes Jones will be able to play with a more consistent level of power.
