With the NBA free agency period set to begin on July 1, the Philadelphia 76ers will face tough decisions regarding eight players from last year's roster. A list of those players is below.
Restricted free agents:
Lavoy Allen
Unrestricted free agents:
Tony Battie
Craig Brackins
Spencer Hawes
Jodie Meeks
Xavier Silas
Sam Young
Lou Williams
The 76ers declined qualifying offers for Meeks, Silas and Young, making them unrestricted free agents. While Philadelphia would like to bring back leading scorer and sixth man Lou Williams, he will be a hot commodity for other teams in need of backcourt help. Starting center Spencer Hawes, who averaged 9.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, will also command attention in the free agent market.
The one player the 76ers should be able to retain this offseason is Lavoy Allen--assuming, that is, Philadelphia is willing to match another team's offer for the big man who contributed to Philly's postseason run as a rookie.
