Philadelphia 76ers Free Agency 2012: Elton Brand Wants To Go To Dallas

The Philadelphia 76ers made it official on Wednesday, using the amnesty clause to free themselves of Elton Brand's $18 million cap burden for the coming season. Brand is hoping that the Dallas Mavericks claim him off waivers, according to a report from David Aldridge of NBA.com.

Teams that are under the salary cap can bid on Brand, picking up a part of his salary for the season ahead. The same report said that the Bucks, Cavaliers and Raptors would not be making a bid for Brand. The Hornets and the Suns were said to be mulling the veteran.
