NFL Power Rankings Week 8: Eagles Fall In National Media Ranks

Most of the national media has now released their Week 8 NFL power rankings and the Eagles' loss on the road to Tennessee is certainly reflected in their position amongst the ranks. We’ll start with Real Clear Sports, who takes an average of nine major media outlets’ ranks. They’ve got the Eagles back at #14, dropping from #8 last week. Their average rank in the poll is 13.

ESPN has the Eagles ranked highest at #14

No “wow” factor in Kevin Kolb in Week 7 loss to Titans, giving Michael Vick the start after bye. (Clayton)

FOX Sports has the Eagles ranked the lowest down at #15, a seven-point drop from last week.

Just when I was starting to think this team might be very good, they came up short. They played very well for three quarters last week at Tennessee, but collapsed in the fourth quarter. You can see how opposing defenses have an easier time against Philadelphia with WR DeSean Jackson out of the lineup. The bye came at the right time for this team based on the injury issues.
