Reuben Frank of the Burlington County Times is citing a league source that says the Eagles have contacted the Buffalo Bills about the availability of running back Marshawn Lynch.
It could be a sign of concern about the status of LeSean McCoy, who suffered a fractured rib in Sunday’s loss to the Redskins. McCoy broke the rib in the first half and continued to play the rest of the game, but it could be a concern going forward. Obviously a running back is going to take a lot of shots to the ribs in any given game
Their interest in Lynch could also stem from the disappointing play of Mike Bell so far.
Our Bills blog, Buffalo Rumblings thinks Lynch could be expendable.
Though the Bills have repeatedly denied any interest in trading Lynch, their first-round pick in 2007, reports continue to circulate that the team is open to the idea of trading him. With Buffalo very much in the league cellar and the team’s backfield crowded beyond belief, flipping Lynch for a draft pick might be a wise move for GM Buddy Nix to make.
