The Giants "young punter" is named Matt Dodge. Yesterday, he was instructed to punt the ball out of bounds rather than kick it to DeSean Jackson with :14 left. He didn't get it out of bounds. In fact he kicked a line drive straight to Jackson, who returned it for a game winning TD that capped off arguably the greatest collapse in Giants history. Giants fans were irate and decided to unload their frustrations on Matt Dodge via twitter.
↵Only problem was, Matt Dodge the punter isn't on twitter. There is however just some random guy with the same name on twitter. The irate Giants fans didn't seem to comprehend that two people can have the same name and led an online assault against this guy. From TMZ.
↵↵↵After the game, another guy named Matt Dodge was blasted with Twitter hate mail -- people calling him a "chode blaster" and advising him to go into the witness protection program.
↵
Matt Dodge (not the punter) responded, "Whoa, just got hella twitter spammed thanks to that gawtdamn NY Giants punter, also named matt dodge. Think he'll buy my account?"
Another fine example of class from our friends in New York.
