Eagles Reportedly Interviewing Saints Dennis Allen Today

The Eagles will reportedly interview the New Orleans Saints secondary coach, Dennis Allen, this weekend. Allen, 38, has become a somewhat hot property these past few weeks and interviewed with the Broncos for their vacant defensive coordinator job earlier this week. Allen is young, but as we noted on Wednesday, he's built himself a pretty impressive resume so far. In 2009, the Saints secondary gave up just 15 TD passes which was the 3rd least in the NFL. This season, the Saints gave up a league low 13 TD passes. By comparison, the Eagles gave a up a franchise record 31 TD passes this season.

His current boss, Saints head coach Sean Payton, says that Allen is ready to take the next step to coordinator.

"It's a small league, and there aren't many secrets," Payton said. "His reputation has grown, and the word has gotten around. You can see it on film. He's extremely talented, and another thing about him, he's an extremely hard-working guy. He's a guy that's going to have more of these opportunities down the line."
