2011 NFL Mock Draft: They're Already Coming Out!

If you're a fan of a team not in the playoffs this year, you're not wanting to waste any time in getting the offseason started. In fact, 2011 NFL Mock Draft is one of the most searched terms on google today. So of course, the draftniks are hard at work churning out the first mock drafts of the "offseason." Over at the mothership, our own Brian Galliford (a Bills fan who is used to turning his attention to the draft by October) has fired off his first mock draft and he's got Stanford QB Andrew Luck as his #1 overall pick. Despite the fact that a large majority the top 10 teams have needs at QB, Luck was the only signal caller to come off the board.

The Eagles, who are picking at #24 pending the outcome of the playoffs, took Oregon State DT Stephen Paea. I would say that DT is the least of their needs, but it's never a bad idea to assume the Eagles will go for a big guy in round one. As for the Eagles top needs in the draft next April, I would say #1 and #1a is offensive line and corner. The offensive line, most notably the interior, was a total mess this year and the corner position is in near crisis mode. Other than Asante Samuel, it's debatable that the Eagles even have another NFL worthy corner. I like some of what I saw out of rookie Trevard Lindley and he'll certainly be around next year but by no means is a he a sure thing. Guys like Dimitri Patterson and Joselio Hanson are depth guys at best and they've been asked to start this season.
