Fantasy Football Week 8 Advice: Will LeSean McCoy See His Role Increase?

LeSean McCoy has been a fantasy revelation this season with 8 total TDs through 6 games and being on pace for over 1,500 yards rushing. But according to Andy Reid, his role may increase even further

LeSean McCoy has been a fantasy revelation this season with 8 total TDs through 6 games and being on pace for over 1,500 yards rushing. For those in PPR leagues, Shady has been even more ridiculous with 21 receptions so far. He's combined with Michael Vick to give the Eagles the #1 rushing attack in the NFL and has seen his role increased in recent weeks. Twice this year, he's broken his personal best for number of carries in a game, with the most recent being last week when he got 30 touches.

Andy Reid said this week that McCoy can be a workhorse type back.

"He's shown that he can do that, yeah. Again, this is another guy that loves to play the game. He does not like coming out of the game. He wants to be in there on passes and runs, at all times. We try to monitor and give him a break here or there, but he loves to play the game. He's very good at everything, he's developed into a fine blocker in the pass game, very dependable there, and really has the complete package."

McCoy has a rough matchup this week against Dallas and the #1 ranked rush defense in the NFL. However, he hasn't struggled against the Cowboys in the past. Like all the Eagles starters, he sat out the final game of last season against the Cowboys, but in week 14 he rushed for 149 yards on 16 carries against them. Plus, two weeks ago the Redskins had one of the better run defenses in the game and McCoy lit them up for 126 yards and a TD. So either way, he figures to be a major part of the Eagles offense this Sunday and absolutely worth a start.

Numberfire projects 21 carries for 93 yards and a TD this weekend.
