Oct 30, 2011 - Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The 3-3 Dallas Cowboys travel to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night to face their division rival, Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are 2-4 on the season and currently sit in last place in the NFC East, despite being the favorites to begin the year. A victory against the second place Cowboys Sunday night would immediately vault the Eagles back into the mix for the division title. Another division loss however; would put them in a deep hole with nine games remaining.
The Eagles are coming off a bye week, and in games following a bye during the Andy Reid era the Eagles are undefeated. Last week the Cowboys defeated the winless St. Louis Rams 34-7 thanks to a breakout performance by rookie running back DeMarco Murray in which he rushed for 253 yards – a Cowboys franchise record.
The running game will be key for both teams. The Eagles lead the league in rushing, led by LeSean McCoy and Michael Vick, and the Cowboys are the league's best at stopping the run. Eagles coach Andy Reid – often criticized for not running enough – said the Eagles plan to run the football because "that's what we do".
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is 5-3 in his career against the Eagles, including 2-1 at the Linc – his only loss coming in beatdown fashion, 44-6 in 2008.
