The Eagles have officially ruled out Trent Cole and Jason Peters for Sunday, which was pretty much expected. The good news though is that both Darryl Tapp and Juqua Parker practiced. While Juqua is still listed as questionable, the return of those two guys will certainly help mitigate the loss of Cole. Obviously you can’t replace a Trent Cole, but in general I think we’d all feel more comfortable with a rotation of veterans including Tapp and/or JP rather than seeing Phillip Hunt play every single snap.
Reid said today despite their need at DE with Cole down, he won’t rush Parker back.
“Well you don’t want to put him in a bad position, that’s not what we’re going to do. With a high ankle sprain you’re going to have good days, you’re going to have bad days, I mean, that’s how it works. Yesterday was not a good day for him, he was sore. He came back today and said he felt good, so I think that’s a positive thing. I think it helps that you’re, especially on this time of the year, you’re playing on a surface that’s got to be consistent, just like our indoor facility is, so this is a good measuring stick for him today. We’ll just see how he does.”
Everyone else is good to go. So, while it’s a big blow to be down two starters, two pro bowl starters that is… At least we’re getting some help back.
