Eagles Promote Greg Lloyd, Place Moise Fokou On IR

The Eagles made a roster move today after placing LB Moise Fokou on injured reserve. The Eagles starting SAM LB suffered an ankle injury Sunday against the Patriots. Taking his place on the roster will be rookie Greg Lloyd, who has been promoted from the practice squad.

Akeem Jordan will take over the starting role on the strong side, although second year man Keenan Clayton will see time in the nickel package as well.

Lloyd was a 7th round pick of the Eagles in the 2011 draft and at this point I think we’re all interested in seeing young guys play, especially those on defense. Lloyd was a middle linebacker at Connecticut and was known as a stout tackler and a tough overall presence. Certainly our current defense could use that. He’s also the son of former Steelers great Greg Lloyd, although the two are estranged.
