Nnamdi Asomugha Injury Update: Eagles Cornerback Out With Neck Injury

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha suffered a neck injury in the second quarter against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night at CenturyLink Field.

He is not expected to return.

Asomugha went up for a pass opposite Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams and came down on the back of his head. To make matters worse, Williams came down on top of him.

The former Raiders standout was slow to get up and had to be helped off the field. Aside from a possible injury to his neck, he's also being examined for head trauma.

The loss of Asomugha could turn out to be a major blow for the Eagles, who already trail Seattle 24-7 in the fourth quarter and need to make some magic happen to keep the game -- and their playoff hopes -- alive.

Stay tuned to SB Nation Philadelphia for further updates to Asomugha's injury as they become available.
