Eagles Vs Dolphins: Philly Registers Nine Sacks In Win

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Miami Dolphins 26-10 in a sloppy affair Sunday afternoon at Sun Life Stadium. The two teams combined for five turnovers in a game that moved the Eagles to 5-8, keeping their longshot playoff hopes alive for at least one more week.

The Eagles defense turned in one of their best efforts of the season limiting Miami to just 10 points, racking up 9 sacks and forcing three turnovers. Casey Matthews, Brian Rolle & Phillip Hunt all recorded their first career sacks, while Trent Cole & Jason Babin each had three a piece.

On offense, LeSean McCoy keeps rushing toward history with two more scores today. He now needs just one more rushing TD this season to equal Steve Van Buren's franchise record of 14, which has stood since 1945. Also. one more receiving or rushing TD would tie McCoy with Van Buren for the most total TDs in a season. With three and a half games left, it seems as though McCoy is very likely to own both franchise records before the end of the season.

Overall it was a comfortable win by the Eagles today and one that at least keeps them in the playoff hunt. To win the NFC East, the Eagles need to win out and have the Giants go no better than 2-2. They'd also need the Cowboys to go no btter than 1-3. The Eagles will play the Cowboys in two weeks.
