Asante Samuel Injury Update: Cornerback Ruled Out For Saturday's Game Vs. Cowboys

After missing two straight day of practice with a hamstring injury, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel has been ruled out for Saturday's Week 16 match up at the Dallas Cowboys (4:15 p.m. ET on FOX). The absence of the four-time Pro Bowler Samuel, who hurt his hamstring in the Eagles-Jets game, will be a tough one to overcome for Philadelphia (6-8), which needs to beat the Cowboys (8-6) to keep its playoff hopes alive.

On Thursday, Eagles' head coach Andy Reid said if Samuel was unable to go Saturday, Dominique Rodgers-Cromatrite would start at left cornerback opposite of Nnamdi Asomugha.

"It's tough for those guys to get through the season, at least the history of it has been that way here," Reid said. "That position (and) your D-line, you can't have enough of those guys, and we're fortunate to have the guys we have at that spot."
