Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo has gone to the Dallas locker room after injuring his throwing hand during the Cowboys' first drive of the game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. On third down, Eagles defensive lineman Jason Babin rushed up the middle untouched and hit Romo, who seemed to injure his hand on the follow through after his throw.
With the New York Giants winning today, next week's game between the Giants and Cowboys is a de facto NFC East title game regardless of the outcome of today's Cowboys-Eagles game, and Dallas head coach Jason Garrett will have to weigh whether or not he wants to risk Romo's health in a game that is now essentially meaningless for the Cowboys. Back-up QB Stephen McGee entered the game for the Cowboys after Romo's injury.
According to Fox's television broadcast, Romo will indeed sit out for the rest of the game with a right hand contusion. Fox's Pam Oliver reported that x-rays on the hand came back negative. McGee, who hadn't thrown a pass in the 2011 regular season, has started 4-5 for 36 yards.
