LeSean McCoy Has Sights Set On Record, Rushing Title

LeSean McCoy enters week 17 in second place both in the race for the NFL’s rushing title and for the the Eagles single season rushing record. However, it would take quite a feat for him to reach either. McCoy is 128 yards behind Maurice Jones-Drew for the rushing title, which if Jones-Drew gained no yards in week 17 would be a reachable point… but obviously MJD will continue to be the focal point of the Jags offense.

McCoy also trails Wilbert Montgomery by 208 yards for the Eagles single season rushing record. He says that either record would mean a lot to the team after the way this season has gone.

“It would mean a lot. It would mean a lot just with how the season’s went. You know, it would show the type of teammates I have that week-in and week-out helped me out to get it. And sometimes the linemen, they really want to get it.”

McCoy knows that a lot of things would have to right.

“Hopefully I can get it. A lot of things have to go right for me to get it, but I’m going to go out and play my heart out. I’m sure my linemen are going to do the same thing. But the main thing is winning and kind of go out on a good note. And it would just be even sweeter to get the record though.”

McCoy has already broken the Eagles single season record for total TDs and rushing TDs.
