On Valentine's Day the news broke that Oprah had scheduled Michael Vick to appear on her show February 24th. However, reports are that he has canceled the interview today. There's no word on why Vick opted not to make the appearance, but CNBC's Darren Rovell thought it was a smart move from the QB.
↵"Good move by Vick. Don't think he had anything to gain by going on Oprah. He's done a noble PR job this year & doesn't need her help," Rovell said on twitter.
↵Personally, I thought it would be a good chance for Vick to try to get back in the good graces of the non-football community in the country, but I can see Rovell's point as well. It might be wise for Vick to wait until he's got a new contract and the NFL actually decides it's going to have a season next year before doing a mainstream national interview.
↵So while, "The View" was must see TV for Eagles fans earlier this offseason, it appears that we will have no need to watch Oprah as well. Michael Vick was in the news this week after the Eagles placed the franchise tag on him, all but guaranteeing the pro bowler will return as the Eagles starting QB next season.
