2011 NFL Mock Draft: Todd McShay Releases Final 7 Round Projection

Todd McShay has released his final NFL mock draft of the season and has seen fit to go big this time. He’s got all seven rounds forecasted. Frankly, I’ve been pretty critical of McShay’s picks for the Eagles in this pre-draft process, so let’s what he’s got in this final 7-round mock…

First round – Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado - "Smith is just as talented as Amukamara and has eased character concerns, and he would be a steal at this point for the Eagles."

Again, I have to ask that if Smith "is just as talented as Amukamara and has eased character concerns" then why is he going to fall to number #23? I don’t get that. Plus, CSNPhilly’s Reuben Frank told me last night that there was "0% chance" the Eagles would take Smith at #23.

In the second and third round, McShay has two local offensive lineman coming to Philadelphia. I’m not sure these guys would drop far enough for this to happen, but they would make for interesting picks being "homegrown" type players.

Second round – Will Rackley – OG – Lehigh
Third Round – Benjamin Ijalana – OT – Villanova
Fourth Round (from Cleveland) – Dion Lewis -RB -Pitt
Fourth Round – Shiloh Keo – S – Idaho
Fifth Round (from San Diego) – Scott LutrusOLB – Connecticut
Fifth Round – D.J. Williams – TE – Arkansas
Seventh Round (From Seattle) – Kealoha Pilares – WR – Hawaii
Seventh Round (comp) – Sealver Siliga – DT – Utah
Seventh Round (comp) – Allen Bradford - RB – USC

My one major reaction is that this mock is very light on defensive lineman and there’s been a lot of rumors about the Eagles wanting to take a defensive lineman in this draft. It’s one of the positions that we know that they feel is stocked.
